Dope gallery downtown near all the jucy spots…big upstairs warehouse feel with steps leading to downstairs gallery, very open with room to walk around. Sick B&W art by Tommii Lim…Found free parking close-by on a Saturday night!!

Great, small art gallery. If you have interest in perversion or the grotesque doesn’t bother you, you might enjoy your time here. I would not recommend this gallery to young children.

I loved the feeling upon entering. It felt very urban and very artsy. As if I was in NYC at an art gallery there. The art is thought-provoking and risque, and just the purpose of art, the pieces here will cause you stop, react, and try to interpret each piece. Each piece here was quite interesting.

Tip: If you’re goofy, there’s great photo ops here. Bring your camera! It’s free!

Five stars for feminism! The Box is one of the best, most interesting, and most feminist galleries in LA! Run by the brilliant Mara McCarthy, this place has a mission to show older artists, and under-represented artists, with an eye toward performance art, conceptual art, and radical art that has been under-appreciated by history. I love this gallery. And, if you’re lucky enough to make it there on an opening night, they have exceptional receptions in the back parking lot.

The space is well appointed and the opening events are fun to attend and handled professionally. Being an artist, I’ve had a variety of experiences with galleries and institutions. Mash Gallery operates from an absolute love of art and artists. It is obvious the staff loves what it is they do. Haleh Mashian is a dynamic and inspired force. Every exhibition is engaging and well curated. The level of professionalism and care of the art, the artist and the collector is top drawer.

Fine to go in person but do not attempt to buy a print online with any expectations of communication or receiving your order. The banner on the website directs you to email someone who doesn’t even work there anymore when you plan to buy multiple prints. When you get redirected to the new person, Luis does not answer. I’ve been trying to contact him for 5+ weeks with no response, $300+ gone and no order, tracking number or shipping updates of any kind. Downloaded the “shop” app that they recommend as the only way to get shipping updates, it’s not been updated once. Get it together.

Visually appealing poster art pieces with deep societal and political references. I went to see the artworks by Shepard Fairey. He is a poster artists and their overall message is to not be suppressed by the government.

Magello Gallery is amazing as it brings paint oil paintings back to reality with his personal touch. Oil paints have been lost for some time but after seeing Estabrooks Animal art work has brought an eccentric touch to each of his pecies that take me back to my childhood. Great addition to the Downtown LA community. A must see if you live local or from out of town.

I’m so glad to have Clara to be my teacher. I found her paintings in Google and I love them. I already learned a lot at the 1st class with her. Although it’s 35 min driving from my home to her studio, I’m still expecting more classes to come. Highly recommend, if you need an art mentor!

Nice gallery but forget about parking. Nearby construction makes it even more of a nightmare. Great place to check out if youre walking- otherwise its a no go for me!
